Smitten by Smith's Spring 2010 line in Saks-Jandel in Chevy Chase, Maryland

In two weeks Smitten by Smith will appear in one of the finest stores in the country, Saks-Jandel. Saks-Jandel is located in Chevy Chase, Maryland. This store started as a fur shop that was later expanded into a high-end fashion destination. Saks-Jandel was one of the first stores to import modern European ready-to-wear clothing to the United States and to familiarize Americans with the refined tastes of fashion houses in Paris, Milan and London.

Saks Jandel, which is located on Wisconsin Avenue is known as "mini-Fifth Avenue." This store has been the only D.C. boutique to have the exclusive franchise rights to Valentino, Gucci, Yves Saint Laurent, Karl Lagerfeld, Christian Dior, Fendi, Givenchy, Pierre Cardin and many other lines. This store is not to be confused with Saks Fifth Avenue, its neighbor across the street, Saks Jandel is independently owned by the Marx family of Washington and was established in 1888.

We are very excited that Smitten by Smith will be among fashion legends in this wonderful fashion heaven!

Successful trunk shows in January 2010!

This month we had two wonderful trunk shows for Smitten by Smith! Our first was in Mountain Brook, AL at Lulie's on Cahaba. Lauren Stewart the owner has done a wonderful job with her boutique! She has beautiful things! If you live in Birmingham be sure to stop by to shop Smitten by Smith and other wonderful lines! Here are some pictures from the show.

Our second trunk show this month was held in Mobile, AL at Holiday, Inc. What a lovely store! Collier and I had a great time! It was a rainy day, but that surely didn't slow down the shopping traffic. That store is busy busy...all the time! We had a joint trunk show with Stella & Dot which made it very fun!

Top 5 Road Trip Essentials...and Chick Fil-A diet?

After traveling on the road on and off for several months now I feel like I have established a list of items that make each trip more enjoyable:

1. Starting each drive with a starbucks ice coffee and their low-fat turkey bacon english muffin sandwich (the best)

2. Radar Detector (I have driven my little jetta across the southeast for the past 5 months and I have only received 1 ticket...keep in mind I was driving 72 mph in a 60 mph)

3. Satellite Radio

4. Rose Blossom Lip Gloss from Anthropologie which is very addicting

5. Chick-Fil-A lunch break
I know I have previously discussed my love for the place, but let me just say in the past month I have seriously had Chick-Fil-A every other day. If I end up losing weight maybe I can promote a "Chick-Fil-A Diet." If I gain...this will be the last time I mention the place. It seems like the healthiest place to eat while on the road.
